It Was Easter!

Hey Guys!

So Easter was last Sunday (20th April) and it's where we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. Usually this is with lots of chocolate! For lots of people I know Easter isn't a big deal you maybe get a chocolate egg and have a nice dinner and spend time with your family. But for me Easter is probably one of the biggest holidays in my family's calendar so I thought I would tell you about it.

So I come from a really big family I have 2 sisters and a brother who have 7 children between them and my parents both have 7 brothers and sisters and they all have children who have children so you can imagine how big our family gatherings are! My family is so big that it is difficult to gather in the one place at the one time and often we have to rent out a local village hall or something like that.

For Easter even though my mum is Catholic I haven't actually gone to a church service since I was very little. I think this is because my siblings don't really go to church and she doesn't want to force her grandchildren to go. Unlike my mum my dad doesn't really believe in God and we celebrate Easter with his family who all live in Scotland with us.

There is a tradition in Britain (not to sure if it happens in other places) where you roll hard boiled eggs down a hill which represents the moving of the rock which covers the tomb that Jesus was in. Instead of rolling them down a small hill like "normal familys" my family go to a large damn in the middle of nowhere and chuck the eggs. Different family members (usually the boys) go to the bottom of the hill leading to the damn and we try and hit them with the eggs while they collect the eggs that are still in tact and they try and hit us. It's fun and all the family enjoy it because we are all trying not to get hit! This year the weather was really sunny such a contrast to last year when we had snow!

After we have all chucked our eggs most of us climb down the hill to the damn it self and we try to run up it. it sounds pretty crazy but it's lots of fun. It is mostly the children that run up it while the adults supervise. The highest ever was my brother who got to the top 2nd line! At the end of this most of us have scraped knees and fingers! My nephew actually skinned the tops of his fingers this year!

After this we all get back in our cars and go to a local village hall and have a massive feast. We have pizza, chicken, pasta and SAUSAGE ROLLS! This is where we all just sit and chill and catch up. We always have so much food and I eat so much but it is all so good!

Depending on the weather we play a variety of games when its raining we play duck duck goose and a family favourite is the dish towel game. If it's sunny like it was this year there is a field beside the hall and we usually play header catch or rounders or kick ball depending on what things we have. This year we played kick ball and it was girls Vs boys and the girls won!

There is also a little wood beside the hall where lots of the younger children play hide and seek and they build dens and things like that. This year my auntie made an easter egg hunt for the very little children and my 2 year old niece loved it she collected lots of eggs!

Gradually all the family starts to leave and all my brothers and sisters come to my house for a sunday dinner! This year I played a lot with my two year old niece again she loves the duplo lego! There's so many of us and we all just chat and eat even though we have already eaten tons! After we have had dinner we exchange easter eggs. I got a galaxy egg from my parents, dairy milk egg from my brother, a malteaser egg from my sister and a creme egg from a very good family friend.

Overall this Easter was amazing but when it's nice weather it's always better because you get to enjoy being outside.

Let me know if you like this lifestyle I guess blog post and I hope you liked it! Thanks for checking it out! :)

You Gotta Get Up And Dance!

Hey Guys!

Sorry about me not posting very regularly but I've just started exam leave so hopefully it will improve but I'm not promising anything!!!

(I'm the smallest one just so you know)

Dancing is such a massive part of my life not only does it help me to keep fit but it is also a way to just let go of all the anxiety and stress built up in your body. It also is an out lit for my creativity for when I have to choreograph my own dances.

I have been dancing since I was 3 years old and I still love it. I perform tap, ballet and jazz and I have also tried workshops in contempory and street but I have never actually had proper lessons for them. In the dance school that I go to I am the oldest and help with the younger pupils. I love it honestly I love having contact with all the children and they all look so cute in their ballerina tutus! I am at dancing for 6 hours on a Tuesday it is tiring I admit that and my body aches on the Wednesday but I love it.

Every two years we put on a dancing display and in the years in between I have exams. Last year I sat my grade 4 ballet and my British medallion for tap and jazz. This month I had my dancing display which will be my final one before I leave so it was pretty monumental while I was taking my bow.
If you want me to post a diary/blog thing about my display then comment or 1 up it or whatever I don't really know what it is haha!!

So thanks for checking out my blog and see you soon! :)

March Favourites

Hey Guys!!

With every blog and YouTube channel that I have subscribed to or follow they always do a favourites video/post and I am just going to copy them and jump on this bandwagon and do a March Favourites post!

1. I have been loving the Spotless Skin Triple Action Facewash by Simple. I suffer from pretty bad achne and I am on prescribed medication and creams and I have been looking for the perfect Facewash  to go with them and I have finally found one that a. works and b. makes my skin feel soft and clean. I have loved it so much that I have gone and bought the whole Spotless Skin range by Simple!!
2. I have been using the Alberto Balsam shampoo and conditioner range for years and I have tried about every flavour but I haven't found a favourite until now. Where I live you have to get a ferry to go to a Tesco I know it's shocking! So because of this we don't get a lot of choice but I was across the water recently and found the coconut and lychee shampoo and conditioner and it's amazing! It leaves my hair feeling silky smooth and it smells incredible which is definitely a bonus!
3. I got Taylor by Taylor Swift as a Christmas present and loved it but I haven't started to wear everyday until now. The thing I love about his perfume is that it's a good one that can transition from day to night so you can wear while shopping with friends and then wear it when you go out for a nice meal with your family! It smells of vanilla with a hint of oranges and plus it's by Taylor Swift which makes it even better!

1. I watch a lot of tv. I probably always have and I always will. My all time favourite has probably been One Tree Hill which finished in 2012. The actress that played Brooke Davis (Sophia Bush) has recently started a brand new show called Chicago PD where she plays Detective Erin Lindsay. It is getting better and better and I have raved about it so much on twitter! What I didn't realise was that it was actually a spin off so I started watching the show were it came from Chicago Fire and it has now become one of my favourite shows. Why? Well it's about firemen so obviously I was going to enjoy it and I have just fallen in love with it. I totally binge watched the first two seasons over a weekend and I am getting so impatient waiting for the next episode of season 3! I'm a Dawsey shipper (if you watch the show you will know who I mean). So go watch it on NBC or Sky Living!
2. Music wise I have been very into Colbie Callait this month and I have no idea why! She isn't very famous here in the UK which is a shame because she has such a beautiful voice but I love curling up with my book and a cup of tea and her music playing in the background.
3. I also read all of the Divergent Trilogy books this month. All over my twitter and tumblr everyone was fangirling over how excited they were for the movie so I started reading them and omg it was amazing! I think it may trump The Hunger Games if I do say so myself.
4. For my birthday I went and saw The Lego movie and it was incredible! I wasn't sure what it was going to be about and if it was going to be childish or not but it wasn't, it was so good. Also it had such an amazing cast I mean come on!

Food Things
1. I have been eating so many Bourbon biscuits with my tea this month I forgot how much I loved them! They remind me of my grandma and granddad because when I was little and went to go visit them I would always get one so they bring back memories is that makes sense...
2. Remember 2 years ago Lucozade released all those new flavours of drink and one of the limited addition ones was pink lemonade and everyone loved it! It went away for about 2 months and then it came back because everyone loved it so much and I have recently become obsessed with it again!

So yeah that's a few of my favourite things from the month of March. If you agree then let me know and also tell me what you have been loving from the month of March! :)
