A Little Summary

Hey Guys!

So as you can see I now have a completely different blog design. I have even completely changed the colour scheme and if I'm honest I'm pretty proud of how it looks now! I decided to change the look of my blog because I wasn't to fond of the one I had before and also it was one of  your run of the mill blogger templates so I thought I would break away from that. I used a website called pic monkey to help me design my new header and also the new picture at the side. Pic monkey is a great photo editor and also it is free! I'm only a beginner when it comes to all of this and I found it very basic to use!

Also some of you might be asking why I didn't post this as soon as my blog changed but it was because I was in the middle of my TMF 2014 series so I didn't want to interrupt that.

Also I have changed and added a few social media things so if you want to follow me then I have changed my Google + because I had more than one email and I was getting extremely confused with what went with each email so you can go follow me there. I have also just created an instagram with photos from my day to day life if you want to see those then you can follow me there as well.

So yeah that is all the changes with this blog and my social media stuff. Hopefully now that I have a new blog design it will motivate me to blog more but I am not promising anything!

TMF 2014 ~ Sunday

Hey Guys!

So after I had had probably the worst night you could ever have a festival I had to carry on and try and continue to enjoy myself. I could tell I was very wary of my anxiety of the Sunday and it stopped me from going and enjoying some of my favourite bands which I regret now but I can't do anything about it.

The previous night I decided to sleep in my sisters tent partly because she was really worried about me and I thought a night in the family campsite would be good for me. I spent most of my morning in the shower queue because I forgot to bring dry shampoo with me always a great start to the day! I waited in the queue for 2 and a half hours and I was only in the shower for 15 minutes! I took so little time because I felt bad for all of the people still in the queue because I was in their position not that long ago and you got so annoyed when someone took extremely long in the shower!

By the time I finally had my shower and also had gotten ready it was 13:00 which meant that I only had to wait an hour and a half for an act that I was really excited for. The act was called Tiree: Outside The Box which was a Celtic connection gig away back in February that I went to with Sean. It is were all of the ceilidh bands that originated from Tiree all get together with a man that influenced most of them. It included bands like; Skerryvore, Skipinnish, Trail West, Gunna Sound and Dun Mor. It was amazing to see them all on the stage together again and you could tell it was a very emotional momet for all of those on stage.

There was another massive gap between the acts that I wanted to go and see so I went and chilled with my friends and met complete strangers one of them being a girl called Caitlin who I now get on with extremely well! We even went to Skipinnish together when they were on the stage and I didn't have a panic attack this time which meant that I got to hear Walking On The Waves live! They were amazing and definitely one of my highlights from the festival.

Once Skipinnish finished on the mainstage it was time for Gentlemen of Few to go on and again they were incredible. My niece and I were jumping like mad and I even got a shout out! They had such an amazing atmosphere and they looked like they were having such a good time on stage which made me have even more fun! After they had finished their set we went on a bit of a stalk and got our pictures with two of the band members, Elliott and Jarrod.

Again there was a massive gap between acts so I had dinner having haggis for like the 10,000th time that weekend #typicalscottishgirl and I even went on this weird bouncy castle thing as if I was 8 again. I must of looked like an absolute fool but it was so fun!

Finally it was time for the main headliner Julie Fowlis (the women that sings an awful lot of the songs from Brave). I was so excited to hear Julie Fowlis sing I Will Fly from Brave because it is honestly one of my absolute favourite songs ever. She sings an awful lot of Gaelic songs too so I was expecting to hear quite a few of them. As her set went on you could feel the crowd getting really excited for her to sing a song from Brave that they finally started chanting "Brave, brave, brave" but guess what?! She didn't sing a single song from Brave! I was so disappointed and I wasn't the only one because I was quite near the back where a lot of younger children were, some were even dressed up as Merida, and they all just burst into tears!

I then went back into the Big Top Tent to see Trail West for the final time that weekend and I have no words to describe how much I enjoyed it! There was ceilidh dancing off to one side, people were on random strangers shoulders, people were singing their hearts out it was honestly amazing and I couldn't wait for the final of the act to come on at midnight! I pretty much lost my voice while singing The Island Boy at the top of my lungs!

Finally it was midnight and more or less everyone at the festival had crowed round the mainstage to see Skerryvore perform. They always finish TMF because they are one of the most well known bands and more or less everyone loves them. They played various different stuff but the highlights for me were definitely Path To Home and Home To Donegal. Where everyone tries to shout out the loudest and you can hear the crowd over the speakers it honestly is amazing! I don't I enjoyed as much as I would of if I didn't let my anxiety try and control but I did enjoy it!

So that was my weekend on the island of Tiree. Monday was spent travelling back home and I was honestly so glad to sleep in my own bed!

The dates for TMF 2015 have been announced they are the 17th - 19th July! So the countdown begins...

TMF 2014 ~ Saturday

Hey Guys!

So obviously this post has been way over due because I have gone back to school this week and have really sucked at motivating myself to post this! I honestly feel like all I do is tell you guys how sorry I am for not posting regularly!

So Saturday was going to be the first full day of the festival but it wasn't going to start till 12:00 so I went to the only shop on the island with Sean to get some supplies that we thought we could need. One of them was chapstick which then became one of my favourites for the month. We also got some ham and pancakes to go with the jam and the wraps that we had brought with us for eating.

Once we got back to the campsite we went and hung out with our friends who we knew but we weren't camping with. I spent quite a lot of my time with them over the weekend which was great because quite a lot of them I went to primary school with so it was nice to hang out with them again.

The first band that I wanted to see was Ceol An Aire who we had already seen last night but they weren't going to be playing until 15:45 so I went with my niece, Caitlin and here friend, Megan to have a look around all of the stalls. There was one that was supported by the NHS which was handing out leaflets as well as free sun cream which was great because it was really warm! There were others that were craft stalls from local businesses from around Argyll and Bute. My favourite stall was the merchandise tent where I bought a TMF 5 hoodie and also a Skipinnish crop top that I ended up getting signed!

It was so time to watch Ceol An Aire for the second time and I was honestly so excited because they get the crowd going instantly. We stayed in the big tent because a band called Gentlemen of Few was going to be on next and we wanted to be at the front for them. They have quite a folky sound with a hint of bluegrass. This was the band that my sister and I were really looking forward to seeing before going to Tiree because we had really enjoyed their debut EP.

After Gentlemen of Few were finished, who were great by the way, there was going to be a circus show in the tent. We didn't feel like watching that but we were interested in seeing Trail West who we had really enjoyed last year and they were playing on the mainstage so we went and seen them. I really enjoyed them because they are your typical ceilidh band but my niece and her friend weren't so keen so after watching them for half their set we decided to go and get dinner. But on the way we got distracted by this really small acoustic tent where there was this girl singing with a voice like an angel! Her name was Zoe Bestel and we sat there for the rest of her set and then went up to her afterwards to tell her how amazing her voice was. She was honestly so sweet!

We then went and got some pizza which was great before getting ready to go back to the tent to go and see my absolute favourite Scottish ceilidh band, Skerryvore. We got right to the front and by 20:00 the tent was packed and they still had 15 minutes until they were going to start. Once they did though oh my god they were incredible! The tent had such an amazing atmosphere and more or less everyone knew all of the words! They played both old and new songs and I honestly just have no words for how perfect they were!

One of the main headliners for the Saturday was Sharon Shannon Big Band. I did go and see her for a bit but I felt quite anxious so I decided to go see if any of my friends were just chilling at their tents and I was in luck! My friends Lauren, Chloe and Leighann were all sitting down just chatting with everyone and taking tons of selfies and it helped an awful with my anxiety to just sit and relax and not really do anything.

By 23:00 I felt a lot better and I was excited for one of the other main headliners called The Peatbog  Faeries. I hadn't seen them live since way back when I was in primary school so I was really excited to see them in a festival setting! They mix so many genres together that it is quite amazing how it all gels together. They had Scottish traditional, rock, pop, country, Latin and even house! But someone how it worked! I really enjoyed them and I was really glad I had gotten to see them again.

As the time slowly moved on to midnight I was getting more and more excited because Skipinnish was going to be playing the Big Top Tent! I had even gone and changed into my Skipinnish top because I was that excited! Once we were in the tent again it was absolutely packed again and I was so excited for them to play some of my favourite songs! Unfortunately we didn't get right to the front but in hindsight I'm glad I didn't because half way through I felt extremely anxious and I had to get out of the tent right away. Unfortunately because it was so hard and by the time I got out I was in the middle of a really bad panic attack.

I was then taken to the first aid station and all the stuff happened where they tried to calm me down and everything including doing different tests and all this. I'm used to it because my anxiety can get really bad but the thing I was most annoyed at was that I missed my favourite Skipinnish song and I even didn't see their whole set because while I was sitting in a chair struggling to breathe everyone was leaving the tent. It was then really awkward because lots of people begun to stare and then that didn't help at all but eventually my panic attack did calm down and even though it was horrible I'm quite glad it happened so late at night because I would of just felt so awful for the rest of the day if it happened earlier.

So there you go that's what happened on the Saturday of TMF 2014 :)

TMF 2014 ~ Friday

Hey Guys!

So I guess this little diary entry thing has been a long time coming because as you know I was away to Tiree Music Festival last month from the 18th to 20th July and it was amazing! Not everyone gets to go to a festival so I thought I would tell you my experience about mine.

If you didn't know Tiree Music Festival or TMF is a small Scottish traditional music festival and it was named 'Best Small Festival in Scotland' in both 2012 and 2013. Tiree is a small island in Argyll & Bute and has the most stunning beaches in the whole of the UK or well that's my opinion anyway. It is also the sunniest place in Britain and if you live in the West Coast of Scotland then you will be glad to hear that Tiree has no midges!

I had travelled over on the Thursday to Tiree on a 4 and a half hour ferry that left from Oban. You would think that the journey would be awful but it actually isn't because the boat is absolutely full of people and the boat does only leave Oban at 8:15 so it's a good chance to catch up on some sleep!

I went with my friend Sean because he is also a massive Scottish music fan and once we got there we had set up our tents with a bunch of friends that we also new that had been on the island for a whole week.

Friday was going to be the first day that the music actually started unfortunately it wasn't until 18:00 so we had to amuse ourselves until then. When we got up we went to all the little food stalls to see what we could get to eat. There was such a variety from healthy porridge to burgers and chips. We decided to go with the Crepe Shack and I got a banoffee crepe it was one of the most amazing things I ate the whole weekend!

July Favourites

Hey Guys!

So as you can tell by the title and seeing as the month of July has finished it is time for me to tell you all the things that I have fallen in love with this month! This post is honestly so late and I really have no excuse except that it's my summer holidays and I was enjoying the sunshine so yeah...

1.) So my first favourite is such a simple thing but I have honestly been wearing it everyday and that is, chapstick. Told you it was such a simple thing! So it's been really sunny hear in Scotland and when it's hot like this my lips always get quite sore not to the extent of burnt but close so this is perfect because it has an SPF of 10 which isn't great but it is better than nothing!

2.) I have such a big family and because of this I get given quite a lot of presents for birthdays and Christmases. I am often given lots of body stuff and bath stuff but I am always really bad at using them because I just am there isn't really an excuse. So this month I decided to have a bit of clear out and I have been loving Dreams Unlimited by The Body Shop body lotion. I only have a miniature and it came with a shower gel as well and omg it smells incredible!

3.) I have also been up at the Glasgow Commonwealth games and I also stopped by the Lush shop (lets be honest who wouldn't?) and I bought this massive box of random bath bombs. I suffer from pretty bad anxiety so having a bath is something I do often because it calms me down and these bath bombs have just been making it amazing they smell incredible! My favourite was a sea weed one it smelt of lemons and stuff.

1.) This month I finally got to catch up with my favourite summer shows because I have been not as busy and I have been loving season 4 of  Teen Wolf. It's only going to be a 12 episode season which I am pretty crushed about because I wish it was longer but it has already been renewed for a season 5! I did a review kind of thing for the premier if you want to see what happened..

2.) So many new albums came out this month and I was also away at a music festival so choosing my favourite music thing was really hard but I stuck with my gut and have decided that Lewis Watson has been my favourite. He released his debut album, The Morning on the 7th of July so super early in the month and I have fallen in love with him even more. He had a YouTube channel and that's how I found him before he released his album and I am so happy for all of his success!

3.) If I'm not on the internet I'm probably reading a book and this month I finally jumped on the bandwagon that is Game Of  Thrones. All of my friends have been telling me to go watch the series so I looked it up online and I found that it is based on a book series and I am a firm believer of reading the book first so that's what I have done. It was amazing I am waiting for the second one to arrive and there are just no words to describe how good it is!

4.) I don't enjoy watching films as much as I love reading books and watching tv shows but my list of to watch movies keeps getting longer and not at all shorter so I decided to try and cancel it down a bit. So I watched Endless Love with Alex Pettyfer who is gorgeous  and also Gabriella Wilde who is one of the most prettiest girls I have ever seen! It is the second film adaptation of the book by the same name but that one was made in the 80's so... It's such a beautiful story and I would definitely recommend it if you were having a girly sleepover or if you are in one of those 'meh' moods.

1.) I like to add a few random things to my favourites that really don't have a category because why not? It has been so warm and sunny over July which has been amazing because I didn't have to go abroad to get a tan! So I've been having lots of ice cream an and ice lollies. My favourite by far has been the rocket ice lollies that have 3 different flavours in them. I really like them because they remind me of when I was in primary school and we used to be given them when it was really hot.

2.) Another things that I have been using to help keep me cool and hydrated is drinking lots of milkshakes. Chocolate flavour to be precise. There are a few local cafes that make some of the best I have ever tasted and I definitely feel better getting a milkshake instead of a can of fizzy juice!

So there you go a few of my favourite things from the month of July! What have been your favourites from last month?
