Wishlist | H&M

Today I bring to you my current wishlist from a shop I have been loving recently which is H&M.

For me H&M is a great shop for basic stuff and I adore a lot of their simple T Shirts.

Not too long ago I did a post on my Wishlist from Forever 21 so if you like this post be sure to check it out!

My wardrobe seriously needs updated and I can't wait to go out for a bit of a shopping spree!

All of these items I chose from the New Arrivals section just so you know. :)

1. Short Sleeveless Top £3.99 I am forever needing quick simple vest tops and with them bring £3.99 it is kind of a no brainer?! I am having a thing for green at the moment so that is probably the colour I would choose.

2. Blouse In A Textured Weave £14.99 I have been looking for a blouse like this for ages because it is great for dressing both up ad down! Definitely think that this sort of thing is a must have for all wardrobes.

3. Twill High Waist Shorts - £12.99 If I could I would live in shorts but unfortunately it just isn't possible with me living in Scotland so as soon as the sun comes out I am instantly in them and these pink and black patterned shorts are just the cutest!

4. Short Lace Top - £14.99 I am in love with this top! Definitely one of my favourites from everything I am sharing with you today. The only thing is that it is kind of cropped so I would definitely have to see how I felt actually wearing it before I bought it.

5. Skinny High Ankle Jeans - £19.99 One thing I know for sure is that I am in desperate need of some new pair of jeans and I have been loving the cut out of the knee trend and I think that is why I would love these jeans. I definitely don't mind paying a higher price because they need to be long wearing!

6. Sleeveless Top - £7.99 I think this top is really cute and I really like how it is a high neck with the little rolled collar. I think the print is stunning as well! I also would say that it is a really good price as well.

7. Jersey Top £7.99 Another bargain in my opinion as well as a staple piece. I love the shape of the top and even though it is really simple it would be great with a pair of patterned shorts or skirt.

8. Patterned Shorts - £9.99  This is another massive favourite of mine! Blue is sort of my colour and I always find myself going back to it and I think the lace detailing around the bottom is super cute.

So that is a few of the things that I have been loving from H&M's New Arrivals section.

What are your favourite pieces and what do you think will be a big summer trend?

So I've Joined Bookstagram

It's been a long time coming but I have finally joined Bookstagram aka the book side on Instagram!

Over the past few months I have been really enjoying the BookTube community which you would already know if you have read my post on My Top 3 BookTubers and because of these guys I found the Bookstagram community so I thought I would start there and who knows I might branch out into BookTube?! Definitely not for a while yet though!

I literally made it a few days ago and the account only has a few pictures up on it but I plan to share reviews and recommendations as well as what I'm reading and my book hauls!

If you are into that sort of thing my name is @abookloveaffair if you want to follow and if you have come over from my blog please let me know in the comments!

I decided to make a Bookstagram because I don't feel like I can fangirl enough on any of my social media accounts when it comes to books because they are all majorly lifestyle so because of this I made my Bookstagram so that it was solely dedicated to books and I can let my book fangirlness be unleashed into the world!

Again my account is called Abookloveaffair and hopefully if you do follow it you enjoy it!

Bad Blood ~ Music Video Review

If you have been reading my blog for a while you will know that I have a slight, ok massive obsession with Taylor Swift and I have for a really long time.

Recently aka Sunday 17th May she premiered her most recent video at the BBMAs and boy oh boy it was amazing!

I thought I would share all of the things that I loved about this video! I admit it isn't one of my absolute favourites but I defintiely thoroughly enjoyed watching it!

First off let's talk about all of the people that were in it. I mean this has got to be one of if not the most star studded music video ever! It had Selena Gomez, Hailee Steinfeld, Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss, Ellie Goulding, Zendaya and even more people! it is utter craziness!!

This version of Bad Blood was a remix featuring Kendrick Lamar who I admit am not really a fan of but I do enjoy his part to the song even though I prefer the original but understand at the same time why he is featured I mean Taylor loves him!

The video is based on two friends who are sort of partners in crime when one of them stabs the other in the back. Taylor aka the girl stabbed in the back then assembles her squad to take on the back stabber and is just filled with badass girls who are strong, independent women and don't need no men!

Fun fact all of the people featured in the video all chose their own aliases which I thought was pretty cool and once you know that you can kind of understand the names. My personal favourites are Taylor Swift with CATastrophe, Cara Delevinge with Mother Chucker and Hayley Williams with The Crimson Curse (menstrual cycle reference according to an interview she did).

My favourite outfit was the spikey bra look partly because I never expected Taylor to look so badass in my life!

Favourite part was definitely when Ellen Pompeo and Mariska Hargitay came out and nodded to her because if you didn't know Taylor's cats are named after the characters that they play on Grey's Anatomy and Law & Order: SVU. It was such a fangirl moment for me because I love them so much!

Basically the Bad Blood video totally slayed me and I can't wait to see what she does with her next video because all of her videos keep getting better and better!

UPDATE: Bad Blood now holds the 24 hour Vevo record with 20.1 million views in the first day!

My idol honestly slays!
Do you like the Bad Blood video?
What are your opinions on Kendrick Lamar's feature on it?

My Summer Plans 2015

Summer is definitely upon us and to say I was excited would be an understatement!

I have lot's of exciting things planned and I thought that I would share some of them with you guys so you have a bit of an idea on what is coming up on my blogs in the next few months!

This is my final summer before leaving home so I plan to spend as much of my time as possible with my friends before we all go our separate ways!

I am counting this into the summer months because it is technically British Summer Time at the moment! My first big plan doesn't actually happen till the end of the month so I thought why not add it in?!

30th May - I am off to a very big gig up in Oban called Skerryvore Decade which is to celebrate the Scottish traditional band Skerryvore's 10th anniversary. As well as seeing Skerryvore, Skipinnish, Trail West, Red Hot Chilli Pipers and more will be there! I think it will be such a good night!

This is possibly my busiest month at the moment but who knows what else is going to come up?!

5th June - My Leaver's dance. It is my final goodbye to my secondary school! I cannot wait to get all dressed up all nice and fancy and celebrate this milestone with all of my friends!

10th - 11th June - This one hasn't completely been confirmed yet but I am possibly going to a creative industries festival up in Inverness called Expo North. It celebrates all types of creative things but I am really going for their media and radio bits.

16th - 26th June - If you have been reading my blog for a long time you might of read about how last year I took part in a German Exchange run by my school. We traveled around my local area seeing all of th big sights. This time I am returning to Germany and I cannot wait!!

Now I am so excited for July because I just plan to hang out with my friends at every possible moment!

17th -19th July - A highlight of mine from the past two years has been when I went to Tiree Music Festival a Scottish tradional/folk festival and again this year I can't wait! This year the headliner is The Fratellis which is kind of amazing!

My final month before I leave my hometown. In fact I leave on the last week I believe! I can't wait till I move to Glasgow and I also can't wait to bring you along with me on this journey!

27th - 29th August - The biggest event  of the year in my town is Cowal Highland Gathering and this will be a great final hurrah before I leave! It holds the World Highland Dancing Championship as well as a pretty fab ceilidh tent!

So that is my already planned plans for my summer! What are yours?

Day Through My iPhone | Glasgow With The Girls

Hey Guys,

Bit of a different post today but something that I really enjoy looking at and that is a 'day in the life' post. Basically a blogging version of a vlog.

On Friday I traveled up to Glasgow with my friends to go and buy my leavers (prom) dress and I thought I would take you along with me.

Who doesn't love a boat ride?

Yeah I have to take a boat to get to Glasgow! As well as a train but a boat is a lot more uncommon!

The Shopping Begins

I actually forgot to get a picture inside House of Fraser which is where I got my Leaver's Dress. I went up to Glasgow with an open mind because I had no clue what type of dress I wanted let alone what colour! One thing I can say is that as soon as I put my dress on my face lit up.

TGI Friday's

This was my first ever TGI Friday's (I know it's crazy!) but now I definitely understand the hype! I had a cheese burger along with onion rings. It was really good and worth the money. Shout out to our waiter Kevin! ;)

Casual Team Pic

Of course we had to get some type of squad photo to document the day and we thought why not get one while we are in a restaurant! Unfortunately one of my friends is missing but 4/5 is pretty decent!

Selfies in H&M

I may of fallen in love with the second dress I tried on but that wasn't the case for my other friends so we carried on shopping after lunch. Of course when you see funky sunglasses you need to take a photo!

Wee Waterstones Trip

I physically can't go to Glasgow without popping into Waterstones which was my favourite part of the day (apart from the dress buying). I get so excited in book shops and I may or may not of came home with 4 books... It would of been more if my friend didn't pace me!

Cheeky Costa

Of course I couldn't not get a Costa while I was there as well seeing as there isn't a Costa near me (I have to take a ferry). I also got some Millie's Cookies but I forgot to get a picture of that... These two make the perfect train journey home combination ;)

Honestly once I got home I was absolutely shattered so I got straight into my pyjamas and got the book that I'm currently reading called Dragonfly In Amber. The second book in the Outlander series

So there you have it a day through my iPhone! I enjoyed doing this type of post if you liked it and want more of it let me know!

I Left School!

Hey Guys!

This post has honestly been such a long time coming but seeing as it was such a pivotal moment in my life I decided to just step back and take it all in.

On the 24th April I officially finished school along with all of my classmates who I have spent the last 6 years with. It was a very special day and weirdly emotional which I definitely wasn't expecting!

The day started with a formal assembly where we all had to be in school uniform. During this assembly there was speeches from our Head Teacher and Year Head about how good we were as a year group and how much they were going to miss us.

Our Head Teacher also took the pleasure in embarrassing us all by sharing pictures of us all throughout the past 6 years and man were they embarrassing! We even played the 'Guess Who' game where there was pictures of some students when they were really young and we had to guess it who was.

At the end of this formal assembly we were all called up onto the stage one by one and we received a certificate as well as our leaver's hoodies which was definitely my favourite part of the day!

As soon as the assembly was over we all changed into our hoodies and were sent off to go and have a Primary school sports day competition. Now my year group as a whole is extremely competitive so you can probably guess what it was like. We got into groups of 10 (mine had 11 but who was counting really) and competed in the egg and spoon race, wheel barrow race as well as a relay. Unfortunately my team The Hakuna Ma Tatta's didn't win but we did come in third place!

The next few hours was basically spent parading round the school in our hoodies getting selfies with our favourite teachers as well as getting them to sign our leavers form which is something that is required before it can be classed as us left.

An awful lot of selfies were taken with my friends as well of course!

In the afternoon we had a second assemble which was informal and run by our Head Boy and Head Girl. This was hilarious because they had a slideshow of pictures that didn't make the yearbook (which I run) as well as some extremely moving speeches which very nearly brought me to tears but I kept them in!

The day was filled with reminiscing over the past 6 years and looking forward to what lies ahead in the future! It was also filled with celebration as one of the biggest parts of your life comes to an end but also a nervousness because you have no idea what is destined for you in the future.

When I turned 18 everyone was all like 'You are an adult now!' but I didn't really feel like one until now because I am free from school.

I finally feel like I am getting the fresh start that I have been wanting for such a long time and I cannot wait to see what is in stored for me in my life, my studies and of course my blog!

Have you recently had a life changing moment?

I Went Missing... I Know!

Hey Guys!

I'm back!!!

Yeah, that's right I am back to do some regular blogging after disappearing on you rather out of the blue a week ago!

I was on such a roll as well with me doing the Ultimate Blogging Challenge which I did not succeed in doing but I did give you guys 24 posts through out April! That is a big number compared to what I usually give you guys!

Now onto the explanation. It wasn't anything scary actually I just had one of those milestones in my life because on the 24th April I officially left school! Which is really scary not going to lie but also really exciting because I feel like this is the time when life actually begins!

There will be a post later on this week about my leaver's day but I'm not sure when because I can't decide if I am going to be posting 2 or 3 days a week yet after (trying) to post everyday!

So basically I have just really had a bit of an unexpected break from blogging but I am back and ready to do this!

Sorry I have been away and hope you didn't miss me too much ;)
